To ensure that SNAFI isn't limited by my personal time and energy constraints, I am revising the structure of Still Not Asking For It.
Instead of coordinating directly with each shop leading up to the annual event, we will provide a standardized framework for hosts to utilize.
Still Not Asking For It was founded by Ashley Love and Jessica Pilar to empower advocates and survivors of sexual violence. The event aims to connect tattoo artists and shops that are aligned with these critical issues to clients who share those values.
The official SNAFI day will be held each year on the second Sunday of April. If this date coincides with Easter Sunday, SNAFI will take place on the third Sunday instead. We understand that spring can be a hectic time for events and conventions, so shops are welcome to choose alternative dates for their events. However, we encourage them to host on the official date whenever possible, as it helps build enthusiasm and awareness.
Any tattoo shop that prioritizes safe and healthy practices within their establishment is invited to participate in SNAFI. Please review our Accountability Standards for more information.
SNAFI Framework:
We encourage all shops, tattoo artists, managers, and front-of-house staff to prioritize ongoing education on topics such as trauma, boundaries, and issues pertaining to marginalized communities. Resources we recommend include Trauma Informed Tattooing and Tinted.
If any issues arise within your shop, approach them with accountability towards your team and the community you serve.
Official SNAFI day will be celebrated on the second Sunday of April, unless it falls on Easter Sunday, in which case it will be observed on the third Sunday of April. While this date is significant, we understand that spring can be a busy time for shops, and flexibility is encouraged.
All proceeds from SNAFI events must be donated to a local or national organization—100%. This is a firm requirement for any shop representing Still Not Asking For It or utilizing SNAFI-associated designs. You may select the organization of your choice.
SNAFI flash sheets are available for free use at your event, provided that Still Not Asking For It is properly cited and credited.
The "No means No" design is copyrighted to Ashley Love and may be used freely, as long as proceeds are donated and credit is given to Still Not Asking For It.
This event should be hosted by individuals and shops that genuinely align with the values outlined above.
